The test has four parts and takes up to 50 minutes.

PART 1: CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH COURSE - REGISTRATION FORM   Fill in the form (3 minutes) 

What’s your level of French? Basic

Why do you consider French important? It’s the most spoken language in Europe.

What’s the purpose of your enrollment? Be able to speak well

PART 2: You have enrolled in the ‘Conversational French Course’. Fill in the form with complete sentences. Use 20-30 words. You have 7 minutes.

I want to go to the class on Monday and Friday. If it is possible, I prefer the afternoon because I don't have university classes. I thought that it would be interesting to learn about French history. 

PART 3 You are a new student in the ‘Conversational French Course’ and you are in the chat room. You are talking to Heather, an old student in this course. Talk to her using complete sentences. Use 30 to 40 words per answer. You have 10 minutes. 

Heather: Hello! Are you a new student? I started three months ago because I want to go to work in Germany. Why are you studying German? 

You:  

Hi!

Yes, I'm a new student. Really? I have always wanted to work in France. Nowadays, it's the best country so maybe I should try to go. I want to learn French because I need a degree, but If I learn fast, I could try to go to Germany.

Heather: What do you make of the course? 

You: 

In my opinion, it's a good course. On the internet, everybody says that it's the best course if you want to learn fast. The teacher is a native so his pronunciation will be perfect. Every Friday we will have exams.  I had thought that the course was different but it's so funny and I learn a lot.

Heather: How do you feel about the fact that one of our teachers is native? 

You: 

It's fantastic. In my opinion it´s the best because the teacher has perfect pronunciation. He is so strict, but I learn more than other teachers. I had thought that could be bad but now, I'm so happy with the native teacher. 

PART 4 

You are studying French in the ‘Conversational French Course’. After your last lesson you saw the notice below: 

Dear students, 

We are sorry to inform you that from next week we need to change the time of the lessons: now they will be held every Wednesday and Friday from 19.00 to 20.00

Write an email to a fellow student explaining what has happened. Speak out about the message. Write about 50 words. You have 10 minutes. 

Hi man, have you received the message? It's not good for me, what about you?  As you know, I’m busy these days. We must go together to complain and try they change the hours. We could tell them to be in the same class again.

Finally, you’ve decided to study English instead and you would like to be changed to the English plan.  Write a letter to the language school explaining your opinion and proposing alternatives. Write about 120-150 words. You have 20 minutes.

Dear Mr,

I'm writing to you because I want a change of language. I know that English is more important and will be more useful for me. Furthermore I am travelling to London and I need to improve my language. I propose you change my inscription. It’s easy because I haven't started so we could use the money I paid for that.
