  • Organize your ideas (introduction, development, conclusion).

  • Use nouns, connectors, phrasal verbs, and idioms.

🎙️ Monologue – Global & Social Problems (B1–B2 Level)

Today, our world faces many global and social problems that affect people’s daily lives. Some of the most important issues are immigration, politics, housing, and climate change.

First of all, illegal immigration has become a big challenge for many countries. People leave their homes because of poverty, war, or lack of opportunities. Governments should set up (create) systems to help immigrants fit in (adapt) to their new societies, while also keeping borders safe.

Secondly, many people have lost trust in politicians. There are too many cases of corruption, empty promises, and lack of transparency. Citizens need honesty and leadership from their governments to solve real problems.

Another major issue is the difficulty of finding affordable housing. The cost of living keeps rising, especially in big cities. Young people can’t get by (manage financially) or buy their own homes, which creates frustration and inequality.

And of course, we can’t forget global warming. The planet is facing serious environmental damage — melting ice, forest fires, and pollution. Everyone should cut down on (reduce) waste, drive less, and take care of (protect) the environment.

In conclusion, the world’s problems are connected. At the end of the day, if we all work together, we can create a fairer, safer, and more sustainable world.

🎓 EOI Exam Instructions – Dialogue

🎭 Task 2 – Interactive Discussion

You are going to have a conversation about social inequality and global challenges. You have 1–2 minutes to prepare and 4–6 minutes to speak together.

👥 Roles

🧍 Role A:You believe governments should take stronger action against social problems like poverty, housing, and pollution. People need laws and policies to make real change.

🧍 Role B:You believe citizens are also responsible. If everyone takes care of the planet and helps others, we can make progress. Personal action matters as much as laws.

Try to:

  • Express agreement and disagreement politely.

  • Use connectors, nouns, phrasal verbs, and idioms.

  • Give reasons, examples, and solutions.

🎭 Dialogue – Governments vs. Citizens: Who Should Act? (B1–B2 Extended)

Role A: I think governments should take stronger action. They have the power and resources to deal with (handle) social problems like poverty, unemployment, and housing.

Role B: I agree that governments have a big role, but people should also take responsibility. If everyone cuts down on (reduces) waste and pollution, we can really make a difference. Actions speak louder than words.

Role A: True, but individuals can only do so much. We need laws, programmes, and investment to fight inequality. The government should set up (create) affordable housing projects and control prices.

Role B: That’s a good point, but sometimes politicians just make promises and nothing changes. People should stand up for (defend) their rights and speak out (express opinions) when something is unfair.

Role A: Yes, I agree there’s too much corruption and not enough transparency. But still, without good leadership, things can easily get out of hand (become uncontrollable).

Role B: Exactly, but we also need a change in attitude. Many people only care about themselves. If we look after (take care of) each other and the environment, we’ll see real progress.

Role A: You’re right. It’s a matter of teamwork between citizens and politicians. At the end of the day, we’re all living on the same planet.

Role B: Absolutely. If everyone does their part — government, companies, and people — we can make the world a fairer and cleaner place to live.
