Writing Aptis Advanced 1

1 (20-30 words each question.)

Hi guys, I’m from Japan and willing to take an international trip. I have 3 options. France, The United States, or Spain. My questions are next

Which is the cheapest country and why?

Definitely and based on my own experience, as I´m quite familiar with these countries, the cheapest option is Spain, mostly since in Spain the cost of living is by far, lower than in the other two countries.

Why visit the country you have chosen?

From my point of view,  Spain offers a broad range of options, from some of the most historical monuments in the world to pristine beaches, not to mention its tasty gastronomy and breathtaking landscapes.

Do you recommend any city in particular

Well, not easy to pick just one city; it depends on what you are looking for or your interests. If you are a beach lover, I'd advise you to visit Málaga and its surroundings; on the contrary, if you are a culture seeker, Granada or Sevilla would be best.

2 (120-150 words)  You are a member of the Friendline social network. The site initially had no limitations, but now there is a policy change.

Dear members,

Due to increased traffic and activity, we have had to introduce a new policy. Posting is only available twice a day, and each user can make up to 10 comments within 24 hours.

These changes are due to our strict guidelines on offensive or inflammatory posts, which, once flagged by the algorithm, must be reviewed by a staff member and manually removed.

If you would like unlimited posting and commenting, we are launching a premium service at only $3 per month. These fees are put towards hiring more reviewers and improving our bandwidth and servers.

Thanks for your attention, and have a friendly day!

Now, write an email to the website’s administrators, explaining your feelings about the notice and suggesting possible alternatives using the notes.

Dear administrators:

As a member of your social website, I recently received an email detailing some changes in your policy that seriously affect how we can post and comment on your website, establishing some restrictions and fees.

In my opinion, these measures have their pros and cons. On the one hand, watching and removing more offensive or inflammatory posts will make the opinion exchanges more respectful and thoughtful.

On the other hand, paying a fee, although in a small amount, for limitless posting and commenting, could cause a certain division between members, since not all of them will have the same opportunities to express their opinions and reflections.

Therefore, and in conclusion, I would humbly suggest reconsidering not to implement the euro fee and keeping unlimited posts and comments for all members.

 Sincerely,

Javier Sánchez Valverde (Social website member)

3 (180-220 words) Every year, the World Tourism Organization (WTO) compiles a list of the most visited places according to the number of international tourist arrivals for every country. You have been asked to contribute one article regarding the graphic.  Use the information shown in the graphic. Where are the most touristic countries?  Analyze this chart and talk about your country's situation.

No doubt, traveling has become, over the last decades, the first leisure option for millions of people all over the world. Our planet has plenty of a huge variety of destinations that can fit almost any budget.

Besides, the tourism market produces multiple incomes for those countries that receive an incessant flow of tourists, boosting these countries’ economies.

If we take a look at recent research, every year, the number of well-regarded tourist destination countries rises, and so does the number of travelers. However, upon these countries and according to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), in 2017, three countries topped the list of the most visited countries in the world. The third place on the list was taken by Spain, reaching 75 million tourists, mostly looking for coastal and sunny destinations and its historical cities, who stayed there for 5 through 10 days on average. In the second place was the USA with almost 76 million who were mainly attracted by cities such as New York or San Francisco and by its National Parks. Finally, on the top list, we can find charming France, where tourists are gripped by stunning cities like Paris or Bordeaux.
