  • 🤖 Topic 2: Artificial Intelligence

Subtopics: Soldier Robots · Automation · ChatGPT · Love with Robots.

🎓 EOI Exam Instructions – Monologue

    🗣️ Task 1 – Individual Monologue

You are going to talk about the topic Artificial Intelligence. You have 1–2 minutes to prepare and then 3–4 minutes to speak.

    Try to:

    • Structure your ideas clearly (introduction, development, conclusion).

    • Use connectors (firstly, however, on the other hand, in conclusion…).

    • Include phrasal verbs, adjectives, and idioms naturally.

    • Give your opinion and examples from real life.

    🎙️ Monologue – Artificial Intelligence (B1–B2 Level)

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is changing our world very quickly. Some people find it amazing, while others think it’s a bit scary. Personally, I believe it can be both.

First of all, there are soldier robots, machines that can fight instead of humans. It sounds smart and efficient, but also dangerous. What if something goes wrong and the robot attacks the wrong people? I think using AI for war is playing with fire (doing something very risky).

Then we have automation, when machines or computers take over (replace) people’s jobs. It makes work faster and cheaper, but it also means some people lose their jobs. Governments should come up with (create) new ways to protect workers and train them for new skills.

Another example is ChatGPT, a tool that helps students come up with ideas, write essays, and learn languages. It’s very useful, but we shouldn’t rely on (depend on) it too much. If we stop thinking for ourselves, we’ll miss out on (lose the chance to have) creativity.

Finally, there’s something more futuristic: love with robots. Some people are already building emotional connections with machines. To me, that’s quite strange and sad. Real love needs human feelings, not programmed responses.

All in all, AI is a powerful tool that can make our lives better — but only if we use it wisely (use it carefully). Like people say, too much of a good thing can be bad.

🎓 EOI Exam Instructions – Dialogue

    🎭 Task 2 – Interactive Discussion

Now you are going to take part in a conversation with your partner about Artificial Intelligence. You have 1–2 minutes to prepare and then 4–5 minutes to speak together.

    👥 Roles

🧍 Role A: Believes Artificial Intelligence is positive and helps improve our lives. You think AI makes work easier and education more effective.

🧍 Role B: Believes Artificial Intelligence is risky and could become dangerous in the future. You think people are becoming too dependent on technology.

    Try to:

    • Express opinions and give examples.

    • Agree or disagree politely.

    • Ask questions to keep the conversation going.

    • Use phrasal verbs, adjectives, and idioms naturally.

🎭 Dialogue – Artificial Intelligence (B1–B2 Level, Extended)

Role A: Have you noticed how fast Artificial Intelligence is growing? It’s amazing how it’s changing our lives!

Role B: Yes, I’ve noticed, but honestly, it makes me a bit nervous. Robots and machines are starting to take over everything — even jobs.

Role A: That’s true, but automation can also make work easier and faster. We just need to adapt to (get used to) new technologies.

Role B: Maybe, but what about people who lose their jobs? Not everyone can just come up with new skills overnight.

Role A: That’s a fair point, but technology has always created new opportunities too. We just have to keep up with (stay updated on) the changes.

Role B: I agree, but what about soldier robots? Using machines for war sounds dangerous to me. It’s like playing with fire.

Role A: Yes, it’s risky, but it also saves human lives. If robots fight instead of people, fewer soldiers die.

Role B: Maybe, but machines don’t have emotions. What if they go out of control (stop working correctly)? That could be a disaster.

Role A: True. Still, I think AI tools like ChatGPT are very useful. They can help out (assist) students and make studying more fun.

Role B: I agree it’s helpful, but people shouldn’t rely on (depend on) it too much. If students stop thinking for themselves, they’ll miss out on (lose) creativity.

Role A: You’re right about that. Balance is key. And what do you think about people who fall in love with robots?

Role B: Honestly, I find that strange and sad. Love is about real emotions, not programmed feelings.

Role A: Absolutely. Still, I think AI can be a great tool if we use it wisely.

Role B: Yes, but we should be careful — too much of a good thing can turn bad.

Role A: Totally agree. Let’s just hope the future is more like Wall-E than Terminator!
