🎓 Level 1: B1 Intermediate

Focus: Giving opinions on technology, basic advantages/disadvantages, and personal habits.

Part 1: The Compulsory Essay

Word count: 100–120 words

Instructions: You have had a class discussion on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

"Is Artificial Intelligence (AI) good for students?"

Notes:
- It helps with homework.
- People might become lazy.

Part 2: The Article (B1 Elective)

Word count: 100–120 words

Task: "My Life Without My Phone."

We are looking for articles for our school website. Could you live for a week without your smartphone? What would you do? Is technology a problem for your social life? Write your article.

📘 B1 Teacher's Guide: Tips & Models

Strategy: Use simple connectors like First, Second, However and In my opinion. Focus on being clear and answering all the notes.
Key Vocab (B1): Useful, tool, internet, gadget, dangerous, addiction.

B1 Model Answer (Essay):

Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence is very popular among students. In my opinion, it is a very useful tool but it can also be a problem.

On the one hand, AI helps students with their homework.¹ For example, if you don't understand a math problem, you can ask an AI to explain it. It is very fast and easy to use.

On the other hand, some people think students will become lazy. If the computer does all the work, students won't learn anything.

In my view, we should use AI only for help, not for copying. In conclusion, technology is good but we must use it carefully to keep learning.

🎓 Level 2: B2 Upper-Intermediate

Focus: Logical arguments, formal vs. informal registers, and more precise vocabulary.

Part 1: The Compulsory Essay

Word count: 140–190 words

Instructions: You have listened to a podcast about the "E-waste" crisis (electronic waste).

"Should companies be forced to make gadgets that last longer?"

Notes:
- The problem of pollution and toxic materials.
- The cost of buying new phones every year.
- (Your own idea).

Part 2: The Report (B2 Elective)

Word count: 140–190 words

Task: You work for a tech company. Your manager wants to know if the staff should use AI tools at work. Write a report explaining the benefits (saving time) and the risks (privacy or mistakes). Suggest if the company should use it or not.

Strategy: Use more formal linking words (Furthermore, Consequently, On the contrary). Include a conditional (If companies made better phones, we would have less waste).
Key Vocab (B2): Environmentally friendly, consumerism, durable, impact, awareness, waste.

B2 Model Answer (Essay):

In today's world, we are surrounded by technology, but this comes with a high environmental price.² The problem of electronic waste, or "e-waste," is growing every year.³

Firstly, many gadgets are designed to last only a short time.⁴ Consequently, people throw away millions of phones and laptops, which contain toxic materials like lead. This is extremely harmful to the environment. If manufacturers were forced to make more durable products, we would significantly reduce pollution.

Secondly, the cost for consumers is very high. Many people feel pressured to upgrade their devices every year, which is a waste of money and resources. We need to move away from this culture of constant consumption.

However, some companies argue that making long-lasting gadgets would be too expensive. In my opinion, protecting the planet is more important than corporate profits.

To conclude, I strongly believe that governments should introduce laws to ensure technology lasts longer. This is the only way to tackle the e-waste crisis effectively.
