Dear President,

First of all, I need you to accept my apologies. I would have liked to attend the last meeting but I was taking care of my son who was ill at the hospital. I’m so sorry!

Regarding the projects you have told me about, I agree with the first one but pretty disagree with the other. What I mean is that I do think that billboards could make us earn the money we need for the lift, the repairings of the building and the painting. But I don’t want Lisa to leave as she works really hard, is polite and friendly. In addition, she needs the job to pay her parents' debts. So, my vote is “no”.

Maybe we could reach an agreement with the new cleaning company to hire her. In case it is decided to hire a new one, of course.

Dear Sir,

I am writing in response to the letter that you sent to me. Security in our hometown needs to increase to make our lives better. Vandalism has increased, and we don’t feel safe in our homes. The reason for this letter is to explain my suggestions for our town about security.

Firstly, we should take some kinds of measures to prevent vandalism. We should create recreational activities for children and adolescents to avoid boredom. In school, we could have educational talks to be closer to adolescents. Also, we need to use high-quality and robust materials with street furniture and make more controls of affected areas.

Secondly, it is important to define the type of punishment for young offenders. It depends on the gravity of the crime. If a child commits a minor offense, like vandalism, the police will talk to the parents. They may also send the child to the youth care office, which will either provide counseling or refer them to other services.  We could create a program where children have the opportunity to put right what they have done wrong. For example, they could apologize to the victims and pay for any damage or infraction. If the act of vandalism is higher, they could have detention.

Finally, we could install security cameras in the street. If something happens, police could revise the recording and decide the best punishment.
